Heartbroken

That cold hard day in March forever changed me,

I felt my soul crushed and my heart broken!

That dreadful call from my boss saying your free,

The farm is closing, now was spoken.

It was my first job, it inspired my passion

To work on a farm is one or another fashion.

I love the animals, even the smell!

Farmlife had opened my eyes and cast a spell.

Now my for my career choice I am concerned,

Is there a future, or will I too get burned.

How will we all eat if no one farms?

For me, there is great cause for alarm!

It is this experience that made me an adult,

Causing me grief and making me feel fault.

I worked and worked but nothing I did,

Could save that farm for this once a kid.
