Heartbroken

Bleeding from love's gentle touch, I lay in the shell i created for myself Paralyzed against the cold floor with no other thoughts but WHY Pain flooded my body and mind as the answers eluded me Warm water engulfs my eye and blurs my vision And with a blink it runs down my cheek. My sanity, breaks down into fragmented pieces of a jigsaw My mind crumbles to ruins like those of Babylon Each shard of my mind is a glitchy tape recorder Caught in a loop of traumatic events Whilst loneliness pervades me and echos of sadness ripple through me. It all seemed too perfect to end I realized too late it was all just pretend I thought it'd be me and you in the end but i was wrong for too long Now my heart is broken. Love made me vulnerable while it besieged my heart But this bleeding heart of mine i hope would heal For TIME they say all wounds heal Though scars i know might remain To remind me of broken promises, lies and pain.
