hearts without faces

I look in the mirror and pick things out i dont like about myself,

my boyfriend tells me he loves me either way

i dont listen to him i feel depressed. Why is he still with me?

he lays down and tells me "hearts dont have faces,

Hearts cant look at you for your looks"

i stare at him dumfounded

"i dont care if your fat, skinny, dark or white, as long as you have you smile"

"i will always love you i promise to never leave your side and we will never stop loving each other"

i lay against him pressing my ear against his chest, a choking voice scares me

he opens his mouth and says

"i do the same as you, look in the mirror and ask myself why the prettiest girl

in the universe loves me.

im not strong and im not athletic like your exes but i will love you if you allow me "

I start crying as he pulls me in for a hug

we listen to our hearts drumming out of time.

hearts dont have faces and they can not choose your love by looks.
