I remember all the little things,
You would say something dumb,
Just to see me smile.

I remember spending time with you,
It wasn't all the time in the world,
But it was ok.

You had a certain way of doing things,
The way you would say I love you,
It was short and quick.

Everything was perfect,
Or so it seemed.

I had someone I loved,
And he loved me back.

Being with my family and being able to talk about you,
I felt they somewhat understood.

Going to school I felt confident and happy,
Because I knew you would be there.

Being happy was all that mattered to me,
But I didn't realize what I already had.

Now I know what being happy is;
A loving family
An education
And a home
You aren't the only part of my heaven.
