Heaven Calls
I feel the breath leaving my body.
Nothing I did could save me from the light.
The scenery just seemed so gaudy.
Yet this wasn't the time to be so bright.
These kids, they're just standing there watching me die.
Do something! I need help and my body is empty!
No, they just stood there making me think my life's a lie.
Everyone around watched and just turned and went to flee.
My sense of feeling was the first to disappear.
I could no longer feel the pain and it brought me relief.
Suddenly my thoughts kicked in and I was filled with fear.
My friends and family will be cursed with such grief.
A hand reached down and filled me with hope.
I couldn't see his face but something about him reassured me.
Slowly, but surely the man guided me up a steep slope.
It was with those steps something told me I was finally free.
