Heaven of Heroes

He was the man that never gave up on me. The light in my life, The sun in my sky, The moon in my dark nights, And the stars in my universe. It was that moment, At that very shocking moment, I received the news that took me by surprise. My pulse pumping so fast, My heart beating so loud, Lightning lashes out with anger in my eyes. He left this world of weakness to join the Heaven of Heroes. Crying so much I can form my own ocean. His smile was one of a mile wide. His teeth were blinding white, And his face full of happiness each day. Oh God, you saw this wonderful man standing alone, what a great grandpa he was, and now without one to call of my own. Sniffle, Sniffle. Drip, Drop. Not one “Goodbye” did I get to say, not a word but an odd feeling, a feeling of him hearing me every night as I pray.
