Heaven I Know
we are the statues that will be forgotten
we will whither away and become rotten
because of a past of surviving
and endless ocean of tears we were constantly crying
concrete is tough but defenseless
pathetic, fat, piece of shit, useless
against the current
we never paid rent but we’re constantly in debt
my ribs never got tough
and we continued to feel like we weren’t enough
although looking back at the years
it seems like everything went by with brevity
we felt like we were trapped in an endless loop of nonexistent gravity
one slap on the face of the earth
knocks out any ounce of self worth
we’ve never felt more alone
it felt too scary getting old
every other child had homes filled of silver and gold
but he couldn’t take our youth away
as long as we woke up that day
I lost sight of the person I was inside
Blinded by the darkness
Trapped in the creek mess
Heaven I know
we tried
it was time to go
and that part of us has died
