Heaven Within

my soul exists

in a world made of gold

with flowerbeds for carpet

and diamond lightbulbs.

i yearn for a world

of love and light

where hummingbirds

and butterflies

fly just outside

my bedroom window.

i want lavish beauty

and lace gowns

a crown of roses

that sits atop my head.

my world is quiet

with only the sounds of

french lullabies and

fairy feet on the ground.

i built this home of mine

from the ground up

this castle of dreams

that i can run to

when i need to dance

with my head in the clouds.
