Helado

Ice Cream on scorching summer evenings

Slowly melting, dripping down on your fingers.

The sweet creamy taste leaving cold feelings.

Though regretful when the chill reaches the head and lingers.

Nothing is better than this moment, I think

Even better than having an nice cold drink.

That dream was so sweet, that I had to make it real.

So I am here, at the famous ice cream fort

Watching a child suffer an ordeal.

He is one dollar short

I look at the woman with the cream cone hat,

And I say to her ¨add it to mine¨.

Leaving, having paid for two cones

I feel happy, watching the boy and his friends walk across the stones.
