For Helen

Always smiling and laughing with friends

With a future that is so bright and optimistic

And intoxicated with life itself.

On the day of her birth, 17 years

A tragic accident happend all too fast

Her bright light taken from this world.

Tears of pure sadness soaked the clothes of her family and friends

In a time of mourning

While children are given a taste of death for the first time.

This moment forced the realization that we are children no longer

That life is full of unwanted tragedies

And that we must grow and learn from these moments of life.

For her, we embrace the sorrows of life

For her, we paint the community with her favorite yellow

We live our lives and take our chances, for Helen.
