Hello, goodbye

It starts with hello A smile, a wink A flush of the cheeks That voice! He speaks A note, a date Things are looking great A hug, a kiss A phone call just so He can say, “I love you” But what’s this? A text, a girl A betrayed trust Cold shoulders, anger Our love in danger Why? Why? Why? No more holding hands We’ve grown apart A hug, a tear He says, “I love you” One last time Out the door Watching, watching A hello turn into A goodbye.
