Help

Only ever just a background character
In some one else's life- another nameless
face on the subway
With leaden feet-leaden dreams
pushed down so many times that
the sky holds no meaning anymore- what
  is blue?
And beaten down by life and forgotten
          by humanity- ten million faces
  streaming past
    -who am i-
      -why am i here-
        -do i even belong-
  Wandering, lost and alone
A dull penny left out, with a thunderstorm
raging above, no end in sight
Just searching, endlessly, for a friend,
A hand, a truth in the dark,
A love that fits- but just not quite enough
             to be love
And they drink it all in, the others
Their gray skies and lost pennies,
Trying on their wings of stone-
spines crooked and tired feet, dragging
up yet another never ending stair-
 but WAIT
    slow down
 please.
You are yourself.
  Perfect in your flaws.
And,
 Someone you haven't yet met
       is depending on you
(They don't know it yet)
And they'll be what you need, too
           (You don't know that, either)
  So hang on,
     For one day more
One more day at a time
As I wander through the rain,
Collecting pennies.
