alone

alone I sit

in this empty room

always starring at the same tv screen

playing nothing but static

i close my eyes to rethink

am I truly here

in this dark room

wheres the light switch

how do i get light into this room

why is the only light this static

i stair helplessly at the tv

trying to figure out why it’s the only light

this room isn’t real

but it’s all i see

its all i know

everything i know is this tv playing static

everything is in this room

alone

alone i sit

in this room

this poem is about someone being depressed and only being able to see the negative in the world and being stuck in their same thought process not knowing the room.
