Help Me to Grow

Dear me,

You can do this.

You can write this application

this essay

this poem.

You can make it to college.

You can achieve the scholarships.

You can make new friends and new experiences

and you will be

made new.

Your knee, your relationships, your prayer life

He can make it all

new.

"So don't worry, little dove.

Don't worry," He tells you, His love.

"I'll be here, watching you from above

and descending into the cove

that alone you can't escape from."

He loves you.

Love,

me

I am a girl who has felt an inexplicable draw to poetry for 17 years, but unfortunately did not think herself capable of chasing her dream of being a poet. Now she knows better, and is practicing her writing every day in the attempts to hone her craft and do what excites her.
