Helping other parentless hearts

To help children in need is what I want to do

in need of support

in need of a connection

in need of care.

Someone to put a bright light

in their world of pain

I wish to do so when the cause of that pain is an absent parent.

A father or a mother who has jilted or died.

I want to console them,

help them understand their position

for it is not their fault,

nor is it a burden they should have to bear.

A child psychologist is what I aspire to be,

a healer of emotional wounds.

My specialty,

children of a broken home.

Why, because all I can do is help,

and all they have is pain,

and the only person that can help someone in pain,

is someone who has been through the same thing.

I have a parent who left and broke my heart.

All I can remember is how hard it was to deal.

Never should our excuses out way theirs.

But I got through it, and it is my responsibility to

help other children do the same.

I know what I have to do to make my dream a reality.

I know I have to have, commitment, care, determination,

intelligence, patience, experience, the degree, I got it, I am it and if I don't and I'm not,

I will try my very best to obtain it.

I need to help my brethren.
