#helpstatenisland

(poems go here) The year of 2012, we faced a horrible event The destruction of life and homes is what this meant For there was a hurricane named Sandy She was bitter and un-sweet like candy She swept the earth Destroyed all that was worth For days the power was out It was cold, dark and the people began to pout The storm destroyed so many memories, so many places, anything you could see Everywhere you walked there was tree down after tree A lot of Staten Island was destroyed This was something the government tried to avoid Staten Island was in need But we were the forgotten Island for no one helped or did a deed Finally Staten Island cried out The Red Cross came to help all over and about Hurricane Sandy affected us one by one like a huge chain Imagine the feelings of those who lost their homes, imagine the pain I’ll never forget what the marina looked like, oh what a sight There were boats in places you’d never imagine leaving such a fright Pictures can’t ever compare to seeing in person I don’t think the situation could worsen. Our beaches, homes and loved ones were gone So please lend a hand, please just help anyone
