Hemostat

The Linden bloom is over,
The rusty canopy of scent a reminder
Of night, when we used to see the stars

Blink, coming into Sun
The galaxies beneath our feet now
Something is always ending, knowing
It has lost energy, like bonds breaking
In a sanguineous molecule you thought to be endless

Everyone is out of breath, sullen and collapsed
The perfect angel of surrender

I am forever sending empty envelopes to
My old addresses, as if I live there parenthetically
Hoping they arrive with contents

Did you know that the snow melted by your blood
Will become snow again, with infinite patience?
Here, I draw a circle around it, it is separate
From everything that bleeds, or needs to bleed

Worlds revolve, and our pensive bodies are nearby, invoking only
Scars and thick red water, seawater that never knew the sea
