FOR HER
Tales of feminine flight
Of sitting on window sills
Dreaming on stars daring ourselves
To leap.
Of first kisses lingering on quivering lips
Of training bras and new discoveries
The arrival of scarlet acquaintances
Inducting us into the secret society
Of womanhood.
Of stiletto heels on concrete clouds
And sculpted eyebrows that boast colorful eye shadows
That dare not bring to light
The wasted tears for her lost love.
For swaying hips
That induce mischief
And secret fragrances that they personify
As her.
They taste not the clandestine flavors
Of her intellect.
Nor the uprooted strength
Glowing lightly in her soft eyes
That secretly scream
I am woman.
