For her

I lay with you at night, letting the dark envelop us as we discuss;

Possibilities of all things and any things
Terrible things and things so beautiful it pulls at your soul..

..much like the same feeling I get when you kiss me
Or when you look at me, and your eyes burn into my head with a passion so intense every star in the sky pales in comparison

I let your anxieties wash over me
I try my best to cleanse them
But even when I can't
I hold you close
And I whisper in your ear
I'll tell you anything you could ever wanna know

I'll give you a sense of who I am
And I'll take in everything that you are

I need to warn you I'm a disaster
I'm a train wreck
I'm a pile-up on the highway; and you should just keep driving

You have to understand that my mind is anarchic
Much like the way I live my life
But with you I know I can control it
I'll slip off the edge of the world with you
Disappear into space in a way no one could retrieve us
I'll go wherever you want too
I'll follow through any and every version of Hell with you;
The furthest reaches and darkest corners
And I'll speak nothing more than a whisper, every now and again
So that you know I still care
No matter what we go through...
...as long as I can share the abyss with you

It seems to me
We're a generation born into broken lands, and the false ideals of fallen men
We are the generation watching the world crumble before our eyes
We were the last generation taught the wise ways of respect, and still, hate flew rampant over our claimed to be respected lands

But it doesn't matter what they say

Their cities could fall to the ground
Demons could rise from the Earth, and bleed out their hopes and prayers onto the concrete

Economies could collapse, world leaders could retreat to their bunkers
Communications blackouts and travel restrictions abound
Plagues could spread rapidly
Nuclear radiation could rot us in our fleshy graves

But I know that no matter what they do
There's nothing in this world, that could make me take my eyes off of you
