Her

I saw the cuts on her arms

But she is the one

Who saw the broken

Saw the scars in me

She offered me safety

And comfort and love

And she changed my world

She brought me back from the edge

When I thought I could take no more

She thanks me for saving her

But I cannot begin to thank her enough

She is my everything

Like the bird she saved in middle school

She bandaged my wings

And helped me fly

Every minute without her

Is spent daydreaming

About when I will see her again

Every conversation involves her name

So soft and sweet on my lips

And I know it is cliché

I know I sound dependent and weak

I love her and I cannot imagine

My life without her

This poem is about:
Me
My family
