her
When I look at Her,
She turns away in disgust.
Now the pain is getting
deeper and deeper
as She jabs away
at my self-worth.
She never
ever
compliments a thing
I do.
All the time
She patronizes me
and it hurts.
This I will never tell Her
because I am supposed
to be strong.
With just one word,
She makes
tears pour down my face;
never knowing when She has gone too far
or come up too short.
Never does She ask if I'm OK.
Only does She asks why I am loved.
I feel as if
every time
I cry out for help,
I am let down into a deep,
murky abyss,
held ever so tightly,
by Her.
She has driven me mad
ever since I told her my deepest secrets.
Now I would love for Her to be gone.
Though I have tried,
a million times before at that,
to rid myself of Her hellish nature,
She is selfish
and will not
ever leave me.
She whispers,
as cold as the Arctic wind,
"You will never be without me.
Remember? If I go, you go."
