Her

She’s perfect in every way

Her smile bright enough to scare away the darkest storm clouds, yet it’s a toothless grin

Her eyes paint portraits of her inner beauty though they are destroyed by cataracts

Just her hand on your shoulder is powerful enough to lift all the cares of the world,

But her fingers are crippled from arthritis

Witty comments and clever remarks have always been her nature her but she can’t remember her own name

Her legs no longer support her weight but her spirit dances carelessly

Her inner strength the backbone of a family for years, her physical body frail and fragile

She is the greatest healer I know but spends most of her time in and out of the hospital

Her cooking rivals that of the greatest chefs yet she is losing her ability to chew food

She’s perfect in every way

The best-dressed woman of her small town in Texas, she now wears adult diapers

A traveler of the globe with a love for Europe, she now gets lost in her own home

With energy that would rival that of women on Wall Street, she now sleeps upwards of 14 hours a day

Always quick to provide comforting words, she no longer has the ability to speak them

She is the reason I am who I am

My successes nothing but a reflection of her influence

My friend, my teacher, my idol, my all

She’s perfect in every way
