Her

The pencil fiddled in in my fingers
as the sounds of my peers roared behind me.
The teacher at the board,
Kids impatiently waiting for the bell to ring,
I was a freshman, but She was
just a freshman.
Her phone filled with notifications
And She was always gone
Whether it was at home or school
She was just a freshman
Even if He hadn't been a senior
I didn't like the way he touched her
Because it was always her fault
I despised what he sweetly whispered in her ears
Because it changed her
And I definitely hated when he called her
Because my friend no longer
Was someone I could find
No matter how many times
I pulled her from the darkness
That ate her whole
She would return to the very hell
She escaped from
And I was left in thought
As she was made a story
Of a girl who couldn't escape
The sweet whispers which caged her up
Running away only to escape an unfair life
And Oh God,
God, I prayed that wherever she had gone
Please let her have been able to have a chance
To separate from those whisperers
And meet a better man
