Her
She sits in the cold
And is content with her half of the story being left untold
She wants to be viewed as mean and heartless
She wants to be seen as artless
She doesn't want her true colors to show
She doesn't want everyone to know
That she's weak and kind
That in her depression she's confined
She offered up her own happiness for his
Even though with him she found out what happiness is
She let him go
So his happiness could grow
She threw him out of her life
Even though she knew he would stick with her through strife
She knew he wanted his ex
It hung over her like a hex
So she left
In the night with deft
She went to someone else so she wouldn't go crawling back
And ever since then her mind has been black
But she puts those memories on the shelf
And smile softly to herself
Because she can see
That without her he'll be happy.
