For Her

There was something gnawing

gnawing from the core.

Had a critter wondering,

what is there in store.

Something for her Mother

for she was always a bother.

What could she gain

from the leaves that were collect?

Nothing but pain,

if nothing was set.

All the others found treasures

to soon be their leisures.

Yet she kept the noise loud

as high with a pride.

Deciding on a sound

hoping it would be on Her side.

Offering it up

time felt like it stop.

Only to see Her smile,

which was worth all that while.
