Her

Worthless, unneeded , inadequate

I have felt this way ever since I was a child

I am not perfect

yet my parents try to make me

I do the best I can

but it's never good enough

I should be smarter

I should be more athletic

I should have more friends

I should I should I should... I should just be more

Whenver I show a sign of weakness, I am shunned

Whenever I try a different path, I am shunned

Anxiety, depression

These are demons I face daily

They have been by my side since I was a young girl

They whisper in my ear

You are stupid

You are useless

You are nothing

These demons continue to beat me into the ground

They will not stop until I am nothing but whispers

My life was covered in a blanket of black

Everything was dark and blurry

I was ready to give up

Until I met her

She became a beacon of hope

a beacon of light

She saw me when no one else did

She helped me when no one else would

She showed me how great life could be, how great I could be

I soon fell in love

She became my everything

Without her I would not be here

There are days when my demons come back

They fight

They yell

They do everything they can to take me back

Sometimes they succeed, sometimes they fail

But either way, she is there to fight beside me
