For Her

Eyes as bright as a

Peridot gem

Hair that catches fire

In the sun

Freckles creating constellations

Across her pale skin

A lilting voice like a

Babbling brook

Her jaw could cut glass

But her cheekbones

Are delicate

Long lashes brush against

Her cheeks when she blinks

Lips that are soft and full

Always curved into a smile

Strong hands that are

Soft enough to hold

Brilliant smile that can

Light up even the

Darkest space

A laugh that always

Sounds like my

Favorite song

I long to be

Close to her

And maybe one day

We’ll share the

Same space
