Her Bridge

They say that she was wearing a white dress

But that’s how all these scary stories start out

Let’s change that

I say, she was wearing a white dress and held a phone in her hand

She wasn’t trying to flag down cars with the wave of her hand

But with the wave of her phone with the flash on

She got in your car and told you that she was lost

But she used her GPS to tell you how to get home

You comply and you take her home, and she is quiet

That is the same, she is silent the same way in which she was silent in the original tale

She disappears after you stop the car in front of the address

You ring the doorbell, you don’t knock on the door

Her mother answers and tells you that she died in 2001 not 1923 like the original

She says that she believes that her daughter is trying to get home

Her name is Lydia with a y

You leave and Lydia continues her cycle at her bridge: Lydia’s Bridge
