Her Dark Story By: Abigaile Reece

I memorize every word and line, I say it once and rewind,

This is the sight through my blinded mind,

How you interpret is all in your mind,

You don't understand & didn't bother to ask,

A daughter who has grown up without a father,

But she can multitask & master her crafts,

Some say it's just an act for attention,

Did they think of what life at home is like?

No they create a class act, when every day

She goes home to an empty house.

Bell goes off . . . its 2:35, People think I'm strange,

I talk to the few in my circle, I walk alone, Headphones blaring,

My mind in a daze, I call it a maze, don’t say hi when I get home,

Ain’t anybody there, I walk in the door & don't even care

Go to the table & start writing a “fable”.

But you can't see, she is unable to be herself,

She is labeled as a teen, But not able to be seen,

When she walks in that door the fun teenage life drops to the floor,

Here is the secret she only exists in school, at home she's gone,

Her life is a fable, it's so unstable

What you don't know is who she really is, she tries to smile.

Come on now follow me as I lead you through her darkness,

I will provide enough light to proceed,

Have the faith and trust as I guide you through her story . . .

My name is Abigaile, Every day I wake up to a daily struggle,

But when you look at me all you see, Is a teen with $$$,

And no struggle, a coward, “Everything she writes is a lie”

Well let me beg to differ as I set aside the differences,

Take a look at my eyes, I've been fighting a war,

My voice & writing is my strength & my choice,

Music empowered me, I ain't no coward, I ain't got no $$$,

My donor ain’t donating, everything I write is right,

And it isn't a fable sitting on the table it’s my life

Look at me I'm tryin’ to tell you something

I 'm trying to be heard & Change the World . . .
