Her Drug
You know my mom
The lady that gave birth to me
The lady that feed me
Bathe me
Nurtured me
She sounds like a pretty normal mom
She rarely complained about it
Mainly put me first
But there is something she never talks about
It’s something many people don’t know about her
She’s a drug dealer
Pretty weird huh
She never explained why she does this
Many drugs she have given to me
Many she experimented with her self
There’s this one drug she gave me
It was all pink and pretty wrapped in a bow
It was like a wonder land of sparkles and rainbows
Made specifically for me
And no one else
But on the inside it was dark and dusty
It burned my heart time to time
It hurt me so much
But I didn’t understand at the time
The more I gave into it
The more pain I felt
It made me see the real over the fake
The truth over lie after lie
This drug built me and breakes me
And continues a never ending cycle
Of love and hate
The first time was the hardest
I took the needle,
Knowing it will be over soon,
And had it at an angle on my skin
The light reflected off of it as I put pressure on the other end.
It tingled a little as it plunged down into my soul
The drug slowly replaced my heart cells
With fragile pieces
Until my heart was made of thin ice
One touch and it was gone from plain sight
Every thing she did
Every thing she said
Was created by this drug
It ruled over our lives
Like a master to its slave
Like a king to his kingdom
Like an artist to its canvas
It made us who we are today
Some stopped buying the drug completely
And even made it illegal
Others overdosed
And is blinded by hallucinations
But my mother
The drug dealer
Made sure I got a daily dose everyday
“Love” was my drug.
