With Her Head Held High
Hopeful of just 10 more years to go
What had gotten repetitive was the word “no”
She has dreams that stretch higher than the sky
But she always wears a crown with her head held high
Certainly knows who she wants to be
Yet has trouble defining the word “me”
She constantly has emotions to untie
But she always wears a crown with her head held high
Missing elements of life that can’t be replaced
Only can think of tests that need to be aced
She follows every thought with a “why?”
But she always wears a crown with her head held high
Challenged everyday with right versus wrong
Raised up to never not appear strong
She has problems that seem to multiply
But she always wears a crown with her head held high
Rarely cares what others say
The opinion of another will never ruin her day
She stresses with tears ready to fall from her eye
But she always wears a crown with her head held high
