Her Name is Confidence
I envy her blue roots
Her soil and leaves
And trunk and branches
For I am nothing
But a meek yellow sapling
Who cowers at the sight
Of her beguiling blue eyes
She can walk and talk
Like it's her duty
And, oh, the superfluity of her beauty
She is a rare one
This blue tree
Standing right in front of me
She is just out of reach
But they all seem to preach
How you just have to try
Not to be so shy
Stand tall
And maybe you won't fall
Wear that favorite dress
So that you can impress
But what they don't seem to understand
Is that it's such a big command
When you feel as though you are mundane
And you can't help but to abstain
From being this awkward mess
Full of unaltered success
But the stars don't lie
And they bring me by surprise
When they say
That me and that blue tree
We are not so different
To her cobalt darts
My soil staind orbs lie
What the stars tell me
Is that they're not very far apart
Being that they are both a work of art
She may be a towering willow
But I am like a meadow
With the majestic locks abounding
And the butterflies surrounding
Like the certainty of the words spilling from those colored gems
From the same place we both stem
This leads me to believe
That the stars. . .
They speak the truth
There
Right there
Where not many can see
Sometimes not even me
The blue
Shines through
