Her Smile
Her smile says it all,
the shimmering of preparedness
of the Covergirl Wetslicks,
quickly applied.
Her smile rebukes the
cantankerous cold, painting
the skies dreary, empty of the singing
Brown Thrashers song.
It gives me life, her smile
urging me to go, in the
dark envelope that is death
The thick fabric, smiting the
light of her coveted smile.
In the end, her smile
is all that remains in the
moving picture of what was
life centered around her smile.
