Her Soldier

In love is the man who dreams of her face.

In her eyes, he sees his past, present, and future

his home, heart, and soul.

He can bear his own pain, but he canna bear hers

His body is a cloak of protection,

a wooden shield with a metal center.

He is not afraid,

for he has her

and she has him.

When my time comes

if my last words are not 'I love you'

ye shall know,

I didna have enough time.
