Her Woes

She leaves her heart on the shelf

as she walks out the door

always giving half of herself

afraid to give more

sore from the pain of a broken heart

to fully interact

she wouldn't know where to start

she holds her heart

behind lock and key

creating mental blocks

walls compared to jericho

but to fall

are their destiny

for a man's mouth

is a powerful trumpet

his melody of promised love

there's no way to trump it

cause that is what she longs for

and the more he says

the more she adores

and is more

willing to let him in

forgetting this Trojan horse

has deceitful intent within

and though he says he is just a friend

after the Trojan is stripped

and he has pillaged

gained all he was looking for

she will once again sit

a fountain of tears

as he walks out the door
