Her World
Her world started to fall apart
The concrete crumbled under her feet
The bricks fell from the house walls
The sky started falling in chunks
She just watched the world around her die
The love of her life walked out
There was no reason given
Only a direct goodbye
A goodbye that shook her whole world
She planned her life around this person
She made them the center of her world
Her college plans
They were made based on how from how far away they would be
The last thing she said to them
The last thing she screamed
She yelled that she hated them
She gave them the power
She died inside that night
She would never be the same
A part of her was missing
A part of her was ripped out
She didn’t know what to say to get them back
She just watched as they walked away
That night her heart shattered
She broke down and cried for hours
She had to call her best friend
Not even she knew what to do
The pain was just too much to bear
She screamed at God
She yelled at the moon
She didn’t understand what had gone wrong
So the silence consumed her
The anger made it even worse
So she sat all night and wrote this poem
She wrote it with the emotion raw
She wrote this with the tears streaming down her face
She knew if she wrote it in the morning it’d be a different story
She’d forgive them and make excuses
She’d feel different and the story would change
She started to unravel that night
She fell deep into depression
Her heart was missing a piece
That piece would never return
She was nauseous and lightheaded
Her heart was beating too fast
She felt the blood in her ears
She couldn’t smile
She couldn’t laugh
If she did it wasn’t real
Her heart was broken thanks to you
Her world crumbled down
You would never know the difference
She wouldn’t show you if you begged
So don’t just believe if she smiles around you that it’s real
Her heart was crushed and you just walked away
She knew you would never stay
So if you come back she has one word for you
Goodbye
But she knew if you came back
She would make the same mistake again
She’d take you back
So please I beg you
Don’t
