Herbal Death

I recently started working at a place
And she reminded me of him
My coworker’s thin body reminds me of cigarette smoke
And his dark jeans.

Living in a world of immersion and release.
Face time and loneliness
Weight and Negative space
Negative space has weight.
I am governed by my mass
I am going to put a dollar sign on the scale
In front of the numbers
So I feel valuable.

But he is indigo
A mixture of mint and eucalyptus leaves
I am warm rosemary.
We cannot cook with it all
But my mind brews

I think
What if we prepared our gravesites for death
Living to die
Arranging the earth for our death
Personalized death
Cleansing in our last breath.

So I sprinkle lavender and mint
Across the sweet grass
Where I will lay
Absorbing my last breath.

Now I am one,
Two,
Him,
Me

The only validation I need
Comes from the earth
I am Mother Nature
He is so synthetic,
That he is natural.
