Here and Now

In my darkest hour what was I to do, alone and as cold as a winter in Russia,

I needed an escape so desperate to feel normal again

School was the only thing that made me feel alive, not working as it once did

A woman with the smile of an angel and the soul of a monk,

She introduced me to a thing I like to call my savior, Poetry.

I sat down feeling like a joke, what would writing some stupid words do for me?

One after another hour after hour, I was happier than a fat kid in a candy store.

Days turned into months and before I knew it I had a pile of poems larger than Mount Evens,

Body, mind and soul in that pile and slowley but surley I was done living in the past and started in the here and now,

Little did I know that one simple poem would change my life,

I countinue to write because I am in love with the elements and the feeling I get.

I have never been happier and closer to my journal.
