Here in this Dorm

Education so powerful so proud

So intellectually painfully endured.

I know the bamboo on my shelf

Made here at college, you see

I see, chloroplasts

Cell walls

Something dying for water you see.

Bound books, banned books,

All paper from trees.

Bible, Qu’ran you see

I see Philosophy, Physics.

No difference.

Roommates rapture

Running to class,

All on my mind since that last nap.

You see lazy, I’m exhausted.

Math Murder Mayhem

All covered before three

O’clock when I finally eat

I can’t afford breakfast, you see.

I see opportunities far greater then food.

Here in this dorm room

Here on this campus,

These opportunities run rampant.

Well I’d like to pay,

While keeping my arm,

And most of my leg.

But they wont let me.

So I suffer and pay.

And start again the next day.

It’s worth it you know,

To be here at college.

The opportunity to walk away

Knowing so much more then you.

Even if that means owing more then you.
