Here I Am

Here I Am An unhappy woman I was reared this way I am not myself The reason? Tradition, Honor, My family's honor I have to uphold I am not alive I died a long time ago Maybe I was never even alive I see now A Double standard I'm a women So here I am Is it Fair? No. I understand that now, though maybe it's too late. But I'm not a piece of clay You can't mold me I'm a women Here I Am I want to be free I want to truly LIVE This ridiculousness has to end Tradition? Honor? These rules will have to bend Because I know this I have been born again No longer am I dead I have broken free Tradition and Honor Can no longer chain me I am myself now I am a woman Here I Am
