Here I am Lord

Here I am Lord.

Here I go.

Constantly coming to and fro.

I get closer,

And I fall back out.

I wander left,

And then I shout.

Up to Heaven,

How am I mad?

At the one who gives me every reason to be glad.

I crawl back to you,

Forever you embrace,

Even when I am a disgrace.

I ask, you listen;

I plea and you respond.

My desires flourish, Lord.

But may only your plan be nourished.

You who made Heaven.

You who made Earth.

You who made Adam from the dirt.

You who is Love.

You who is Peace.

Help my selfish desire to flea.

So that they may be replaced,

With those you have set for my race.

My race, I run.

My race, I fall.

Lord, how thankful I am

You are here through it all

Here I am Lord,

Broken and beaten.

Here I am Lord,

Only you can mend me.

Here I am Lord,

Ready for you to Send.
