Here I Stand for You

Here I Stand For You

Down from paradise I willingly came;

Into a world blemished, broken, and maimed.

Cherished time has swiftly come to pass.

Thirty-three is a heavy season.

The call I could easily bypass.

However,

Here I stand for a flawless reason.

Mocked and brutally beaten as if I committed treason.

Disagree or agree,

Without a glance behind I trudged up the Skull.

By my will alone I climbed,

Not by the governors decree.

Upon this symbol of death I stand my last stand.

Drip,

Drip,

Drop!

At wits end my blood flogs the land.

Punch and lash my body to gore.

To endure this season I must remember what I’m standing for.

By hundreds my troops would descend to slay,

But here I stand with a mission to be hung on display.

Weak and wounded,

Thorns scraping my skull.

Here I stand for you,

In love and all!
