Here I was, here I am, there I was

Here I was thinking that I was different, that you actually cared about me

Here I was thinking that you really did mean it when you said that I was your number one priority

Here I was thinking that telling you I was sad would actually strike a nerve with you and compel you to come to my aid

Here I was thinking that falling for everything you told me

here I was being lied to

Here I was knowing that I was being lied to

Here I was knowing that I was being lied to and still finding someway to have faith and believe that maybe, just maybe this wouldn't turn out to be a lie after all

Here I was thinking that maybe your proclaimed love for me would finally show through

Here I am knowing that it won't

Here I am knowing that I will never be your number one priority as long as I lie

Here I am finding a way to live with it

Here I am upset, hurt, and confused wondering why I am here, patiently waiting

Here I am patiently waiting (begging) for you to prove me wrong

Here I am with tears in my eyes wondering at the amount of love I have for you in my heart, knowing that you will never know

Here I am hurt and broken over your treatment

Here I am thinking "really, he preferred to tease people about their short comings instead of consoling me in my time of need?"

Here I am praying to God that one day each of these sentences will begin with "There I was"
