Here we are

Some glorious days ago Martin Luther King had an oh so telling dream of. Me. He’d seen, smelled and even tasted fresh freedom of the Promise Land amidst the smog of hatred, and begged the question, Where do we go from here? Well… here we are. So are we there yet? Where exactly are we? Have we arrived to this beautiful city where blacks no longer flinch at the prejudice, and hatred of others? Have we arrived to this beautiful city where every one can all just get along, have we arrived to this beautiful city Where we ARE individuals independent and able to thrive on our own? Or have we remained where we were, with a stale, chipping coat of blue paint and an old rusty horizon over our heads, giving us the allusion that we were headed towards a new day. Well I can tell you ladies and gentlemen; my brothers and sisters Our check has finally come in we’ve broken the silence, taken over the paint shop and we’re painting our own blue skies and bright futures. Where do we go from here? We keep moving forward towards the light we keep our togetherness, we keep our sense of worth we keep singing our songs of old and we keep alive the memories and tradition that got us here in the first place. Moreover let us not lose sight for as long as it took us to get here if we do so much as sneeze we will damage our intricate and delicate mural ..So this is where we are Look up, stand on top of OUR hill and look out at all WE have accomplished , now look up further at our capitol hill mmmmmm ladies and gentlemen and look at how far we’ve come, look at what’s ahead of us. isn’t it beautiful?
