Here's to the 20's.

Looking back on my life, I don’t necessarily know how to feel

Obviously I’m glad to have come this far

But sometimes I feel as if I have nothing to show for it

I’m happy for my life

I sometimes get really sad and lost as if I don’t know where I am or how I got here

Sometimes I get this high like there’s some kind of greatness that I’m destined for that could happen at any moment

But then I come back down to Earth

I’m only me

Turning the first page of chapter 18 of my life almost feels surreal

Aren’t your teenage years supposed to be the ‘time of your life’?

A time free of responsibility and cares and all that stuff that makes your life all watered-down and boring

I’m still waiting on that to be true

I guess I’m just waiting on the day when I can live life without boundaries

Without permission or a say-so from anyone

Until then, I’ll just be waiting behind the gates

Waiting for life to begin

Here’s to the 20’s.
