Here's To Me

Here's to me

Some people slam doors,

I slam poems. You judge

the box,

I open it.

Reality

presses against the walls,

I want the alternative.

To the times I've messed up.

I won't change

for anyone,

but myself.

Until I change,

the world.

Things get better.

The lies,

the supposed love.

Clean your hands.

Society tries to tell me,

Who I am; Who are you?

Give them Hell.

The years go by so

fast.

The picture shatters

I don't like

               normal.

Here's to us.

Who am I;

A girl, A body, An object,

they tell me.

I say

I'm a poet.

Me
