Hero

They say we are separate but equal Judged by the color of our skin Not the character of our heart What does freedom exactly mean When everyday tasks are a struggle No man is the same as another That defines the term individual All shapes and sizes are accepted But yet the color of skin is discriminated on One voice is not enough to change the country So I continue to pray that that voice will emerge soon The life I am living is not the American Dream I trust the future holds hope All we have is each other
