The Hero

She was merely just a character,

A story come to life.

Someway barely just surviving,

The rigors of real life.

She'd crossed the rugged mountains,

And the vast seas of her mind.

But never quite forgeot the feeling,

Of the things she'd left behind.

She's an adventurer at heart,

An explorer all the same.

Like the ones you hear in stories,

With some big old fancy name.

She'd braved the highest peaks,

Of society's crumbling ruin.

And had swum the misty depths,

Of the world's biggest illusion.

That all she had to be,

Was some decent little soul.

She was a hero deep at heart,

And the world deserved to know.
