A Hero
I remember the hospital
The visitation the cries
I remember the funeral for the man
Who was a hero in my eyes.
A guardian angel named daddy
Watches over me today
And although you know where to be seen
He never really went away.
I think back on the years
About how close we were
And it guilts me to the point of tears
Why didn't I beg him to see the doctor?
He's been gone for a few months now
And so much has changed
I feel so alone in this too, too quiet house
How I'm I supposed to cope with this pain?
I remember the hospital
The visitation the cries
I remember the funeral for the man
Who was a hero in my eyes
