Hero In Disguise
Hero In Disguise
You were a hero in
Disguise
What you did didn’t help me until later in my life,
You pushed me with your
Bullwhip of hard work,
(Crack! Crack! Crack!)
Making me feel the pain staking, agonizing regret of failure,
The nose clinching, face ripping, smell of rotten eggs,
The feeling of sandpaper ripping your skin to tiny little shreds,
The feeling when you
FAIL.
You were the spy that I thought as my enemy,
Only your colleagues knew your real identity,
Hiding your real plans from the rest of the world,
The one that every one hates and wants their head on a stake,
But you are really here just to help.
You are a Super Hero that’s
Disguise
Is a 7th grade math teacher,
Covered with chalk,
In front of a board
With bounds and bounds of equations and lessons on it.
You are like the enemy lines
(BOOM! BOOM! BANG!)
Pushing me back,
Making me come up with more
Masterful mind blowing plans,
To do better and work harder to get where I want to be.
Making me push myself to
Accomplish my goals,
Making me so glad that I did all the work.
Because the reward feels so much greater now that I have done the work,
So that I will never have to feel the
Burning baseball beaming
Me in the face again and again,
Because of my failure to work and hit the ball.
You are my hero in
Disguise.
